JEROLD PEARSON

Jerold Pearson In addition to being an eAdvancement partner, Jerold Pearson is currently the Director of Market Research at the Stanford Alumni Association. Prior to specializing in research related to advancement, Jerold worked for research firms in Los Angeles and Boulder, Colorado, doing political polling, new product development, and customer satisfaction research. Since joining the Stanford Alumni Association in 1994, he has conducted over a hundred primary research studies spanning a wide range of advancement topics including alumni and constituent relations, fundraising messaging and strategy development, stewardship, online and print communications, community relations, program evaluation, and student affairs.

Jerold earned his AB in communications and art history from Stanford in 1975, and did graduate study in survey research methodology at the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan. He is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Educational Advancement, has earned the "Faculty Star" designation by CASE (the Council for Advancement and Support of Education), and has published papers in advancement and market research journals.

Within the consortium, Jerold focuses on conducting primary market research in all areas of advancement. He conducts quantitative research (surveys), qualitative research (focus groups), and observational research (usability testing for online resources and services). His services include designing the research plan; writing the research instruments; collecting, analyzing, and interpreting the data; and reporting the results.
