Linda Weimer has more than 25 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, publications, government relations, advocacy, special events, and internal and external relations. She served as Director of University Relations for the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1988-92), Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs for the University of California, Berkeley (1992-98), Acting Vice President for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) (1999) and most recently, Vice President of University Relations for the University of Wisconsin System (2000-20005).

She has been a consultant on university relations issues to the University of Florida; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; University of California, Davis; Oregon State University; and North Carolina State University. She has been a volunteer leader in many national organizations, including AAU, NASULGC, ACE and CASE. She also serves as a trustee of her alma mater, Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA.

She co-authored the book, Reaching Out: How Academic Leaders Can Communicate More Effectively with Their Constituents for which she received CASE’s Alice Beeman Award in 1998. Ms. Weimer holds a B.A. in Biology from Cedar Crest College; and an M.S. in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Within the consortium, Weimer specializes in government affairs, cost-effective communications programs, presidential transitions, crisis communications, speech writing and program evaluations.
